1952-55 The Capri
became a separate line and the top series for 1952 with
the Lincoln restyle. Body styles included a four door
sedan, two door hardtop, and a convertible. Styling was
tasteful and subdued, especially in comparison to contemporary
Cadillacs. Like most cars of this era, they werefairly
heavy, weighing in at a prodigous 4635 lb. (with driver)
The 1952 Lincolns were technically innovative cars,
introducing the first ball joint front suspension of
any car, and Ford's first overhead valve V-8. This engine
displaced 317.5 cid, and produced 205 bhp -quite respectable
in 1952. |
